This course will not certify you to teach. It's an education in the method — and a solid starting point.

What you'll learn

The foundations most people never get properly taught.

Five chapters. Video lessons. Real curriculum — the same approach used in LEAD's full Mat and Reformer certification programs.

01

Chapter 1 — The LEAD Methodology

Learn the four-part framework behind every LEAD program: Learn, Educate, Align, Design. Understand how great Pilates teaching actually works — and what separates instructors who can progress clients from those who can't.

02

Chapter 2 — Important Concepts

Pilates Stance. Two-Way Stretch. Touch techniques. The benefits of the method. These are the building blocks every serious student and instructor needs before touching a single exercise.

03

Chapter 3 — Glossary and Key Terms

The Six Pilates Principles. The Five Parts of the Mind. The language of the method — explained clearly, not just memorized.

04

Chapter 4 — Basic Mat

Foundational exercises: the Hundred, Half Roll Back, One Leg Circle, Rolling Like a Ball, and more. Each one taught with purpose, set-up, corrections, and design — the way LEAD teaches everything.

05

Chapter 5 — Anatomy of Back Pain in Movement

Back pain and exercise. Disc herniation. Disc and facet joint health in movement. Wolff's Law and adaptation. This is the anatomy that actually matters for moving people safely — taught by a Clinical Exercise Physiologist with an MSc in Kinesiology.

Your $49 doesn't stop here.

If you finish this course and decide LEAD is where you want to train, your $49 applies as a credit toward Mat Level 1 or Reformer Level 1 enrollment. You'll receive coupon code INTRO49 after purchase — use it whenever you're ready.

The mini course pays for itself the moment you decide to go further.

Cara Hazelton
Your instructor

Cara Hazelton has spent nearly two decades on both sides of this.

As a Clinical Exercise Physiologist with an MSc in Kinesiology and over 25,000 teaching hours, Cara has trained instructors, consulted with hundreds of studios, and built one of the most rigorous online Pilates teacher training programs available.

The Intro to Pilates mini course teaches the same methodology she uses in LEAD's full certification programs — because understanding the foundations properly is what makes the difference between an instructor who gets results and one who just gets through the hour.

"A few well-executed movements are better than full reps in sloppy positions."

I've learned more from continuing education with Cara than I thought possible. Her depth of understanding changes how you teach.

Common questions

Will this certify me to teach Pilates?

No. This course is an educational introduction to the method. It does not qualify you to teach, and you will not receive a certification upon completion. LEAD's full Mat Level 1 and Reformer Level 1 programs are the certification pathways.

How does the $49 credit work?

After purchase, you'll receive coupon code INTRO49 — worth $49 off Mat Level 1 or Reformer Level 1 enrollment. Apply it at checkout whenever you're ready. No expiry, no pressure.

How long does the course take?

Most students complete it in a few focused hours. You have lifetime access, so you can move through it at whatever pace works for you.

Do I need any Pilates experience?

No prior experience needed. The course is designed to build understanding from the ground up — whether you're a complete beginner or someone who's been practising for years.

What's the difference between this and the free preview?

The free preview introduces LEAD's approach and gives you a sample of the curriculum. The Intro to Pilates mini course goes significantly deeper — covering the full Basic Mat sequence, anatomy, principles, and methodology in real instructional depth.

What if I decide LEAD isn't for me?

That's exactly why this course exists — so you can find out before committing to a full program. The $49 is yours regardless. You'll leave with a genuine education in Pilates fundamentals that's useful whether you go further with LEAD or not.

This is your first step — it's never been easier to get started.
